Water heaters are used to heat domestic water for sinks, showers and appliances. Water heaters have historically been tank-style heaters with reserve water ready for use at any time. While this style of water heater costs less to purchase, they must keep water hot 24/7 by design, even when not in use. With rising energy prices, tankless style water heaters have gained popularity. Tankless water heaters are designed to heat water “on demand” and save energy by allowing the heater to cool when not in use.
